I've talked so many times about putting Collins to sleep and I apologize if it bores you, but this time of day is always on my heart! I don't know if it's because I'm saying good bye until morning and I'm not with him or if it's because he is so absolutely peaceful and I don't want to stop watching him...but something about bedtime makes this my favorite part of the day. He never cries when I lay him down either! I feed him, read him a story or two, walk around his room with him in the dark, and then lay him down. We turn on his favorite worship CD (or mine!) and I always sing the first song to him. He just literally lays there and stares at me. No binkie needed..nothing. I wonder if he'll love music or sing someday. Or if he just loves Jesus already! :) Here's the song I sang to him last night. It's a little slower on his CD and a kid is singing it so it SO sweet! But, here's Michael W. Smith's version and it's wonderful also.
"Step by Step" by Michael W. Smith
(Here's the chorus part that I love!)
"Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise you
Oh God, You are my God
And I will ever praise you
And I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days"
Watch and listen to this beautiful song on youtube:
Last night we were hanging out in his bedroom comtemplating what to do about the storm coming in the middle of the night and just praying for an answer. I knew it would be hard for us all to sleep in the family room and actually get a good night's sleep with the baby coo's and our 90 pound dog trying to get in the house from the garage. She is terrified of storms, but ever since we had Collins she sleeps in the garage where her bed is. I can't chance her doing anything to him while we are sleeping. So, back to the storm. We settled with keeping the TV on in our bedroom and yes, I set my alarm for 2:00am. I was going to be ready. Ready to save my family and head to shelter. :) Well, nothing happened and praise God for that! Collins was able to sleep the entire night, Trent got sleep, and well, getting up at 2am for me was something I did for weeks. :)
The past two nights Collins has slept from 11:30ish to 7! We are so proud of him!! Our little boy is growing up and not needing food as often! Way to go Collins!!!
Here are some pics from tummy time last night. :) We were hanging out in gummy bear's room! :) How fun!
Some faves from the week:
Have a great rest of the week!
Love,
Maegan
PS: Collins and I had a blast with the girls on Monday. Eileen was in town from Atlanta and so we all got together for the afternoon. We hung out at Eileen's house to let the babies play and then we went for a yummy lunch to Sals. Two (maybe 3?) years ago Kristin sent us an article in the mail that was all about setting time aside to travel with dear friends once each year. Each year a different friend is in charge of setting up the entire trip and keeping it withing a budget. The entire thing is a secret and man, how fun!!! Kristin is planning our first trip for this year...just the four of us! Knowing her...she's got everything booked already!
Here are some pics from the fun day!
