Life in Film

Yes, I'm addicted to taking pictures of my child. I take over 60 a day. :) And, the amount of videos I take are also accumulating by the dozens. HELP! What do you do when you're picture happy?! The hardest part is organizing all of the pics from my two cameras and iPhone!

I also forget to upload the videos, so here are some of our faves. Trent and I replay them all the time and laugh. Collins....you are addicting!

"My little chicken nugget flapping his wings!!"

"Dirty diaper laugh!!"

"Collins and BeeBee being silly!"

What are some new things that Collins is doing?
  • grabbing my elbow, arm, and shoulder to suck on :)
  • holding his bottle ALMOST all by himself
  • laughing and smiling on demand
  • his toenails are now growing
  • he laughs when I change his dirty diaper every time!
  • squeals!!
  • grabs anything put in front of him
  • makes great eye contact
  • sits up in a high chair and in shopping carts
  • sleeps with his behind up in the air
  • loves to watch tv and the computer
  • likes to bounce in his bouncy chair
  • loves peek-a-boo, but only when you say the words really low!
  • grabs hair constantly!
  • puts his binkie in and out of his mouth
This weekend we are headed to Ohio for my cousin's wedding. Eleanor is going to be a beautiful bride and I can't wait to see her and my Rooke family. My Gran E that lives in Texas hasn't met Collins yet and I'm SO excited for her to meet him! He has his cowboy hat and boots ready for Gran E! :) It will be a wonderful weekend with my large Rooke fam and I love the craziness of it all!

On a side note:
When Trent and I decided that I'd stay home, the first thing I did was cry. The second thing was a promise that I'd help supplement the income. If I could make a little here and there it wouldn't be so intimidating. We could go out to eat still and enjoy the little things that we liked doing together. :)

I was motivated this past weekend to get the ball rolling on singing at wedding and funerals. I've been blessed to be able to sing at a few weddings and funerals in the past, but I kept wondering if I could 'really' do this part time or even full time. The minister and his wife at the church this weekend asked if I would sing for them on occasional Sundays and they said they'd recommend me for weddings at their church. I got in the car and called my mommy right away. My dream was comng true. Singing is one of my biggest passions! And, when I can praise the Lord doing so....it really is the BEST! So, I'm putting myself out there and we'll see where it goes. If nothing comes of it I can still sing at church and especially to my little baby boy. :)

PS: I promised a while ago to post of a pic of the Father's Day gift I made for Trent. My good friend Lya gave me an awesome idea and I flew off with it! Collins loved eating the letters and putting his little feet through the holes! SO much fun to do and create! Gifts made with love are the best!

FUN Weekend Ahead!

Andrea, one of my good teaching friends, is getting married this weekend! :) I can remember back to the Lexington Legends game (after he had first contacted her) when she was nervous to call him back! Now, they are inseperable and too cute for words! They just fit together so sweetly and I'm SO excited to be able to witness this beautiful marriage that God has brought together. I am honored to be able to sing at their wedding and I pray that it is just want they wanted. Collins has been put to sleep the past 2 months or so while listening to me sing this song so I hope I don't put others to sleep. hehe :) It's a beautiful song and one that people in the audience will be able to relate to. It's called, "Feels Like Home" and it's oozing with love. It's about finding that perfect person that makes you feel like 'home.' And, what a great feeling that is. Thanks Trenty! xo I can't wait to post pics next week!

Collins has been growing by leaps and bounds. His hair is getting thicker, his cheeks are getting bigger, his legs have some pretty awesome rolls, and his entire body is just LONG! Everywhere we go...I mean everywhere...people comment on his size. Maybe if Trent was holding him they would understand why he is so long. But, when I hold him I guess he looks like a monster baby. A pretty cute one! People comment on his eyes too and I have to admit they melt my heart. His eyes are beautiful and he knows how to use them with his little personality. What a goof ball!

Trent was off last week and it was the BEST 5 days. We made a make shift bed in the family room to watch over 15 DVR shows that we had gotten behind on, we made mini trips to Cinci and Louisville, went putt-putting, and we had lunch and dinner dates all week! I wish this would happen every week!

Here are some pics from the past few days. He's been a busy baby!

Cleanest Purse Club!

Are you ready ladies? Are you ready for a clean, organized purse? Are you ready to be able to find exactly what you want when you need it? No more lost cards in your purse....no more going through all your coupons and cards to never find the one you need!! It's the CARD CUBBY! :)

My mom found these in Kiawah at a little boutique store and fell in love with it. Mom ordered one for sis and I and I cannot wait until it comes in. No more 'getting hot' when I get to the Starbucks drive through and can't find my card and there is a long line behind me!! :)

I am SO excited to be able to organize my coupons and gift cards. Someone was thinking of me when they made this. http://www.cardcubby.com/  Enjoy!

Happy Purse Cleaning!!

1..2..3..4...5 months?

First, HAPPY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my incredible and loving parents. I am proud to be their daughter and SO blessed to have their marriage as an example to live by. I haven't been around to watch all 31 years, but the 24 or so that I remember is so special to me. Their unwavering, supportive, and Christian love is what I pray for for my very own marriage. The give and take...the forgiveness...the understanding...the patience....the trust. Trent and I have a LONG way to go to get to 31 years, but there is no doubt in my mind that I found a husband just like my daddy. I just have to be as amazing as my mom!! We have the same genes right?? hehe  LOVE YOU BOTH!

XO
Yes, I'm a couple weeks late again on the monthly photos. :)  Here are his 5 month shots! :)

He was smiling in every picture!!

I wish you could hear the hearty laugh here. :)

Thanks Daddy for helping! He does not want to stretch out!

Collins' five month party was themed around 'toes'! He loves to suck on them and gets upset when his pj's have feet! So, check out the menu below and enjoy the party pics! The cheesy pota'toe' soup was delicious. Thanks Ann for the yummy recipe! Ann made this for my family when I was put on bed rest the last few days of pregnancy. It was SO comforting!

"Toe"-d cake!

Trying to figure out how to dip his fingers in the pota'toe' soup!

Collins' Visit With Kennedi!

Trent's parents came down for a visit and my little niece, Kennedi, could just not stay in Bloomington! Thankfully, she tagged along with her grandparents and got to stay with us all by herself! What a beautiful little girl she is and what a GREAT help she proved to be. I would have kept her if her mommy and daddy wouldn't have missed her. She changed diapers, fed him, and dressed him! She even wrote him little stories about puppies! We also went swimming twice (her favorite was the night time swim!), went to Orange Leaf (she loved the pink popping bubbles), went to pick out a treat for Nala, made bookmarks for Kindergarten, and so much more!
Pics from our 'nothing but awesome' visit!
Ramsey's fun!

Love his smile!

Little water bug!

Resting after swimming! My mom's dog has a hard time sharing Collins! :)

Nala's little squirrel treat. Yes, there are sprinkles!

What a sweet cousin. She did not leave his side!

Writing her puppy story for Collins.

LOVING all the attention!

:)

Trent is a WAY more fun pool buddy than me!

I love you both!

What an awesome helper!

Trent's sweet family! xo
When Collins naps, I run around the house like a crazy lady getting things done! I've been working on my kitchen cabinets....they are SO narrow and we don't have many. So, in the effort to make a shelf for all of Collins' goodies, I had bags galore for Goodwill. When more comes in, more has got to go out! :) I saw this cute little white wire organizer at Marshall's and knew this would help organize his spoons, binkies, binkie clips, and bottle nipples. Yay!

This poor child has had the flash in his eyes since the moment he was born. At least he is used to it! :)

Hope your Monday is nothing but wonderful. Give your fears, worries, and concerns to Jesus. He always listens and always has a way of making everything better!
